The position is a critical role for
this rapidly-growing company, and is
responsible for providing technical
accounting expertise, team leadership,
and a strong desire to improve
processes and controls.

The ideal candidate will be someone who
is very hands on and has the energy to
roll up their sleeves to dive into the
details, able to implement scalable
systems and efficient processes, and
has the confidence to lead a high
performing team.

Responsibilities
• Own the monthly, quarterly and
year-end close process, including year-
end audit and the preparation of
internal / external consolidated
financial statements
• Manage a staff of 6
professionals responsible for revenue
recognition, general accounting,
accounts payable, payroll and stock-
based compensation, and fixed assets.
• Proactively lead all aspects of
technical accounting including
monitoring and ensuring timely
identification of and compliance with
evolving accounting guidance, providing
GAAP interpretation, and documenting
issues appropriately. Research
technical accounting matters as they
arise and determine accounting
treatment for complex transactions
based on such research.
• Design and build the shared
services infrastructure and workflow
for the Company’s first foreign joint
venture.
• Review new contracts to
determine appropriate accounting
treatment.
• Ensure the efficient and
effective operation of Company’s
systems of internal financial and
disclosure controls.
• Manage accounting staff’s day-
to-day responsibilities, including
monitoring and analyzing department
work to develop more efficient
procedures / workflow and use of
resources while maintaining a high
level of accuracy.
• Support the VP of Finance with
various analyses and ad hoc projects,
including the preparation of quarterly
audit committee presentations.
Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
or Finance.
• Big 4 CPA firm background
strongly preferred but not required.
• Ability to thrive in fast-
growing environment where change is the
norm; requires strong multi-tasking
skills, and the flexibility to switch
from one project to the next quickly.
• Hands-on approach, extremely
detail oriented.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel,
including complex functions and
formulas. Knowledge of SAP a bonus but
not required.

Qualifications: Must have …
** 2+ years in public and 2+ years in
private growing a company from 50-200 +
employees. Comfortable wearing
many “hats.”
** Experience in a “start-up”
environment growing company from 0
revenue to $100-200M+
** 6-10 years experience. More
experience would be overqualified for
this position.
** Strong technical GAAP experience!
** Must be active CPA in the United
States preferably in California.
